i feel so lucky lately * i may be missing one or 2 of my heart's desires, but what i do have is no less precious * i spent the holidays in my birth home, Caspar with my folks * it was the first trip i took with my new truck (3 days after i came home with it) * i took the coast road, out to Newport on to 101 which is a wonderful road to drive all the way till the last turn at Leggett on to the windiest road through the redwoods suddenly to the coast again, & home *

mellow was my theme this holiday season & i really enjoyed it that way * i feel replenished & happy to get back to work * i've been glued to my screen since i got home, giving my website a serious make-over * i got rid of some old pages, put up a new one (Caspar) along with a couple slide shows of the photographs i took around the homestead * i always take what i think is a ton of pictures & still end up wishing i'd taken more *

it's good to feel my roots, to have a home to steady myself with when my current home is a little less certain * it's all about the simple pleasures * i can't stop playing with my pictures & my site, working so much Sunshine's getting very bored with me * which is a good habit to get back into after the holidaze anyway * i get a giggle when my newest crush Billy Boyd as the yummy little Pippin pops up every time i clear my desktop (what a great set of crushes in that movie, most available in all sorts of lovely forms at lordoftherings.net) * Sunshine & i went to see it yesterday, my second time * i can't get enough, such an obsessive little crush-junkie... love the story, love the characters & love how they come through in the (gorgeous!) actors... love to have something to obsess over * sigh... simple pleasures, see? & hope for the future *

I saw my Aries friend Alexis yesterday. "You're even more festive than the last time I saw you," I told her. I noticed several new piercings and a Hindu-style red dot on her forehead just above her eyes. She also happened to be carrying her snake, which was wrapped around her arm. my map of Oregon came so now i really have to redecorate my walls * the other treasure is the collection of old family pictures i brought up from Caspar * when i got here i just threw stuff on whatever nails were up already so it will be fun to spend the time on setting up my gallery, the history & wishes of my life all over the walls of my nest *

there's a new baby here at the farm: Star, an itty bitty premie Nubian goat * she came along in the worst of the snow storm here (which was a rainy windstorm in Caspar for me) & Sunshine wasn't sure she would make it but now she seems to be doing well *
